Meet the Cochrane Family

Swapping the city for the countryside

Carol & Steve Cochrane Bought Dipple Farm in 2017 and moved to the 27-acre smallholding from Ruislip north-west London. With their two teenagers, the family embarked on a whole new adventure.

With little to no experience in smallholding or farming, they invited work-away to help on the farm & share their knowledge. Today their assistance comes from Van-Dwellers in the agreement of a safe place to park their mobile homes in exchange for a few days work a week on a seasonal basis.

The Farm

History of Dipple Farm

Historically Dipple Farm was once over 100-acre dairy farm, situated 3 miles from Wolfardisworthy (Woolsery) near the A39 North Devon Coastal Road. This was reduced to many different plots of land of which the 27-acres of Dipple Farm remains here.

The smallholding consists of a series of fields and patches of woodland along the river boundary. The land has been left to nature and conservation to allow for biodiversity in this natural habitat. With our animals ranging through the years, from pigs, chickens, goats & ducks.
